In its sixth year, Leadership Cashiers will kick off Class VI at a two-day Opening Retreat in May at the Country Club of Sapphire Valley. Monthly sessions continue on the second Tuesday, June through December. The deadline to apply for the Class of 2024 is Friday, March 29. Leadership Cashiers is a community engagement initiative by the Cashiers Area Chamber of Commerce "to inform, connect, and engage individuals by studying civic issues, building strong working relationships, and motivating participants to provide enlightened, dynamic community leadership." The program is guided by an Advisory Task Force to the Cashiers Area Chamber's Board of Directors and facilitated by a contracted director. The Chamber funds the program through tuition and sponsorships.
